The "Girl Friend"

It's been two in a half years since Michael and I met and we became the best of friends. NO ONE could ruin our friendship we were tight! Best thing ever life was just perfect! Then of course there's that one day where everything breaks a part... I get "the phone call". Since Michael and I have always said no secrets and complete honesty we told each other EVERYTHING! Well one night I didn't get the nightly date phone call which is weird because he always called me.. the only times he didn't was when he had something that night and he would warn me in advance. But I had no warning and I got no phone call... well the next day he messages me on Facebook and tells me that he needs to tell me something important and it can't wait. So I'm kinda nervous and a little worried that something bad is about to happen... little did I know what was going to happen... so later that night I get the phone call from Michael... he tells me up front; "Wendy I'm sorry for not calling you last night I was at a volleyball game and we had a little party afterwards.... Well a girl kissed me last night and I just had to tell you.. I'm soo sorry!! Are you mad at me?!" I seriously was blown away by those words... I never NEVER thought this day would come not ever! Everything was soo perfect and I thought this isn't happening! Well I just remember saying; "It's okay Michael were not together so I can't tie you down. It's alright, I'm glad you told me though.. it was the hardest thing in my life to say. I was of course furious and wanted to find that little gal and be like do you know who you are messing with?! But I had to keep my calm and be a mature best friend for him... So quick re cap.. Michael and I have never kissed or held hands.. I'm a year older than Michael and at this time I was almost 18 he was almost 17 so he hasn't ever kissed a girl and hardly dated before me. So now that this girl kisses him his wheels are turning soo fast! Okay well after a couple months of trying to get back to normal and pretending like nothing happened between him and that girl.. he calls me again and says that he wants to start dating her.. HE'S ASKING MY APPROVAL?!?! It was really sweet of him to ask me if was okay it shows he cares and wants me to be okay with it. Which I thought was very adorable on his part. I was not going to lose him so I said if you choose her I will not be your friend anymore. He had a hard time with that... sooo we didn't talk for a couple days.. He told me that he would choose me over her.. I could tell he wasn't as happy though.. then I talked to my mom and realized I couldn't do this to him. If I'm really the one for him then he needs to date around and see that. I was confident I was the one for him.. so I called him up and told him the honest truth and said you need to date her and taste other fishes in the sea. I can't pull you back your too young. I want to be your girlfriend but it's not the right time for us. That was the hardest thing to say in my life let me tell you. So they started dating and and I started getting pushed out of the picture slowly but almost completely..:(

Best Friends

Michael and I were two best friends. We knew everything about each other and we wanted to be completely honest. NO SECRETS. So you could say it was the best relationship I've ever had. My absolute favorite topic to talk about with Michael is the gospel. I love hearing his testimony and learning what he has to say about everything. It brings me closer to him and makes me love even more. Michael and I hardly ever got to see each other because we live like a half an hour away. So in two years we've seen each other 4 times. I didn't have a cell phone for most of the time in the two years but he did soo he always had to call my house phone to talk to me. How fun right?? Plenty of people have asked me; "Wow how are you two best friends when you don't get to see each other and only get to talk over the phone??" Well here's the thing we didn't have texting so we called each other and facebook messages each other. We had "nightly phone dates" Every night we would have to ask something new about each other that we didn't know yet. It was the best thing ever! We even decided to get our patriarchal blessings together. He would always be there for me, he knew everything about me and me to him! My mom even asked me how things were going to work between us because at the time we still had 4 years til he'd get home from his mission and man there's no way that we could have just stayed best friends at the rate we were in. Soo one night Michael asked me to be his girlfriend... I wanted to sooo badly!! But I listened to my moms advice and told him we needed to stick to best friends. It was really hard for us both.. but we made it work. Here's pictures of us at my 18th birthday party! I only wanted him and my best friend there. It was one of the best nights of my life!

Our First Date

So by now Michael and I are Best Friends. We talk every night on the phone and we talked about everything from our favorite things in life to deep secrets, favorite scriptures, deep spiritual conversations. EVERYTHING! I knew more about him by now than proabably his little bro. Which I might be exagerating on that one but I'm not sure, there were some pretty deep things that were way personal. We had this thing that we wanted to be COMPLETELY honest with each other about everything. We had no secrets with each other, it was the best realtionship ever! So he he wanted to take me out on a really nice date our first offical date. He called me up and said; "Wendy? I really want to take you out on a nice date... I've been really nervous kind of scared of asking you.. being me I was like hey Michael it's me don't be nervous we're best friends! He felt better.. so he asked me where I wanted to go.. He said you can go anywhere you want money is no object. I was really surprised! So I really REALLY wanted to go to the zoo! So we decided to go to he zoo for our first date! He brought his best friend (Guy) and I brought my best friend (Girl) to double with us. Let me tell you... this was the BEST date I've ever been on! We walked around and got to see all the animals and he would chase me and take silly pictures with me. We kept playing hide and seek with each other through the bat caves. It was soo fun! Then we went and got ceasers pizza and ate at my place. We talked and laughed and took more crazy pictures! He's such a gentleman, he'd always open my door for me and pulled my seat out when I sit down, had me be the one to get the first best slice of pizza. He just made me feel like a Queen! First Time Seeing Each Other In Almost a Year

After so much talking and messing over the phone and facebook Michael thought it would be a grand idea to come visit me! I told my mom that a guy from EFY wants to come over and hangout for a bit. She was like WHAT?! NO! She at the time of life I was in did not trust my friends at all and never let me have new friends come over unless she knew them or anything about them. So I had to literally make him sound amazing to finally change her mind.. Well I was sooo NERVOUS! I haven't seen the guy in almost a year. So what do I do I invite my best friend at the time to come hangout with me and be there when he gets there so it won't be as awkward.. I was dumb. Well he lives in Highland and I live in Herrmiman.. like 30 min or more drive to each other. Well he comes over and it's soo awkward!! I remember thinking man he looks weird.... but we hangout and play mario kart and then go over to my best friend Kembree place to hangout for a little bit. The funniest part is that Michael is the type of guy who likes to let others know who he is and makes sure that theres no awkwardness.. so when he meets my mom he walks right up to her and let her know who he is and says you have an awesome daughter.. Then my mom is like ohh?? I like him. So they start talking and become quite great friends now, plus for me, which at the time I didn't really care.. So then he had to leave because my mom only let him come over for an hour because she didn't want to be weird. Well before he left my mom had to get a picture of me and michael and kembree together. So here's the picture! Let's just say when he left my mom was like yep Wendy I approve of him! This was 3 years ago last month!
